The Minnesota Wild has promoted Ricard Persson to Director of Amateur Scouting, announced by President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin.
Persson will oversee the team's amateur scouting staff and be responsible for running the NHL Draft for the organization.
He is entering his 17th season with the Minnesota Wild, most recently spending eight seasons as Director of European Scouting.
The native of Ostersund, Sweden, originally joined the Wild as an Amateur Scout on July 13, 2010.
Prior to his scouting career, Persson completed a long and successful playing career in North America, Europe, and Asia.
He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round of the 1987 NHL Draft and collected 54 points in 229 career games.
The Minnesota Wild is currently standing 3rd in the Western Conference with a 46-24 record, on a W1 streak, after losing 4-3 to the Colorado Avalanche on May 14, 2026.
Persson's experience and expertise will be valuable in shaping the team's future through the NHL Draft.
